ANNOUNCEMENT

"Application of One Health Concept in Farm Animal Nutrition"

A joint meeting of the 21st International Symposium on Animal Nutrition and the One Health Day organised by the Institute of Animal Physiology and Nutrition of the Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences (MATE ÉTI) in November 2024

International Symposium on Animal Nutrition is organized by Department of Farm Animal Nutrition at MATE ÉTI and this year 21st time. The aim of the Symposium is to support Hungarian specialists to be able to familiarise themselves with the latest research results from home and abroad in order to apply them in their everyday practical work. Our further aim is to host a forum where specialists from Hungary and other countries – researchers, lecturers and specialists from practice – can gather regularly, discuss and exchange their experiences in the various fields of animal nutrition science.

One Health Day is a yearly conference organized by Department of Animal Physiology and Health of MATE ÉTI, first organised in 2021. The purpose of the event in line with the World’s One Health Day (3 November) is to draw attention to the need of a complex, holistic approach of dealing emerging infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, climate change, environmental pollution and many other problems.

Both events have a special topic each time, and this year we have decided to organize a joint meeting with the main focus and title of "Application of One Health Concept in Farm Animal Nutrition". We aim to highlight the significance of adopting a holistic One Health approach and its role in enhancing feed and food safety, promoting food security, ecosystem and animal well-being. We also aim commemorating the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the World Organisation for Animal Health, which supports the implementation of the One Health concept at global level.
